At a time when cold chain logistics is booming, the degree of marketization of food cold chain is very low, and there is little third-party involvement. In addition to the export part of perishable food in China, the logistics and distribution business of the domestic sales part is mostly completed by manufacturers and distributors. The development of third-party logistics in the food cold chain is lagging behind. At the same time, the service network and information system are not sound enough, with poor accuracy and timeliness, and the cost and commodity consumption of the food cold chain are also high.

The development of third-party logistics in the food cold chain is lagging behind. At the same time, the service network and information system are not sound enough, with poor accuracy and timeliness, and the cost and commodity consumption of the food cold chain are also high.

The cold-chain logistics industry has risen sharply

In recent years, the scale of China's cold chain logistics has grown rapidly. Take the cold chain logistics of agricultural products as an example, the output of fresh agricultural products in China has increased rapidly, with about 400 million tons of fresh agricultural products entering the circulation field every year, and the proportion of cold chain logistics has gradually increased. In the next few years, the cold chain circulation rate of fruits and vegetables, meat and aquatic products in China will increase from 5%, 15% and 23% to more than 20%, 30% and 36%, and the cold chain transportation rate will increase from 15%, 30% and 40% to 30%, 50% and 65%, respectively, which will bring tens of billions or even hundreds of billions of yuan of cold chain logistics market demand.

Taking Kunming as an example, the current cold chain logistics industry can be roughly divided into the following categories: the first is the traditional cold storage and transportation. These manufacturers are mainly concentrated in the second ring of the urban area, represented by the Kunming Refrigeration Plant, which also includes the Wangqiao cold storage, the pavilion cold storage and other business forms. These refrigeration enterprises were founded in the 1970s and 1980s, and the equipment is old and difficult to use, and they are often blocked in the logistics link and distribution everywhere, However, there is a lack of information guidance on business opportunities channels and a single market. However, the storage of less than 30000 tons in total has maintained the demand for cold and fresh food in the wholesale market of Kunming in the past.

The second is the self-built business form of food enterprises. The representative enterprises include Yunnan Shennong Meat Food Co., Ltd., Jiahua Company, McDonald's and other fast food enterprises, as well as the cold storage counter of the farmers' market supermarket. These operators and enterprises have a stable source of customers and are involved in retail. The third is the characteristic agricultural supporting cold-chain logistics business form. The establishment of this business form is based on the main agricultural production area, and is connected with the planting base, the origin and the field of the characteristic greenhouse. Once harvested, it will be paid to the cold-chain and transported to the market. It is represented by the Chenggong fresh cut flower industry, the vegetable greenhouse cold storage of Songming Yangqiao, and the cold-chain logistics of the vegetable production base in Jinning.

Finally, the third party cold chain logistics business is represented by the upcoming "Yunnan ASEAN International Cold Chain Logistics Center" and the upcoming construction of "Kunming Airport Cold Chain Logistics Industrial Park".

The development of cold chain third-party logistics lags behind

In particular, the third party cold chain logistics park has a short history of development in China, but it has a lot of stamina. One of its characteristics that is different from the above three types of business is to integrate the cold chain logistics market capacity, that is, to provide diversified deep processing services and broad marketing channels for a large number of businesses and dealers that attract investment to settle in the park through the advanced information platform.

At present, the basic situation of the development of China's third-party cold chain logistics is the coexistence and development of third-party logistics enterprises and independent third-party logistics companies based on food production enterprises. Professional third-party cold chain logistics accounts for about 20%, mainly small and medium-sized enterprises, and lacks industry competitiveness. In addition, the logistics of most perishable food is operated by manufacturers, processors and retailers themselves, which greatly hinders the cost-effectiveness of the cold chain market and the development of third-party cold chain logistics enterprises.

About 40% of enterprises in China tend to operate their own refrigerated logistics business in order to effectively control product quality, but 60% still hope to reduce the pressure of cold chain transportation of products with the help of third-party cold chain logistics. Therefore, outsourcing cold chain logistics is necessary for temperature control product manufacturers, and its necessity is embodied in the advantages obtained by enterprises in the process of cold chain outsourcing.

Outstanding advantages of cold chain logistics outsourcing

Through cold chain logistics outsourcing, enterprises can concentrate on developing their main businesses. Companies with demand for cold-chain logistics generally focus on producing low-temperature and perishable food. These enterprises have high requirements for basic refrigeration technology, refrigeration transportation technology and operation in cold-chain logistics. They require enterprises to have a complete set of refrigeration logistics chain, and also need enterprises to establish excellent refrigeration transportation equipment and professional transportation management mechanism, which are just the weak links of production enterprises. Therefore, outsourcing cold chain logistics to a third party and concentrating time and energy on developing main business is the best choice for enterprises.

Cold chain logistics outsourcing can effectively reduce enterprise costs. Outsourcing the cold chain transportation of products can effectively reduce the investment necessary for enterprises to purchase transportation vehicles, build fleets, build cold storage and other cold chain logistics facilities, thus effectively reducing the financial costs of enterprises; In addition, transferring the transportation responsibility to the third party, once problems occur due to improper transportation, the third party logistics company is responsible for it, which can also reduce the relevant operating costs of the enterprise and reduce the human and material expenditure in this regard.

Cold chain logistics outsourcing can effectively improve the competitiveness of enterprises. The improvement of enterprise competitiveness is mainly based on the first two points. With the intensification of industry competition, for small and medium-sized enterprises that are unable to operate cold chain logistics on their own, it is not worth the loss to invest valuable resources in cold chain logistics, while the perfect third-party cold chain logistics can provide all the logistics services required by the enterprise, help the production enterprises focus on developing their main business, so as to achieve high quality The advantage of low cost occupies an advantage in the industry competition.
